Our WoodlandsFit 21/12 miler was a bit soggy with a few heavy cloudbursts but overall it went very well. Everyone looked really good throughout the run. Karen looked so good at 15.4 miles, where I was working an aid station, that I had to catch myself as my first impulse was to let her keep going. There is no doubt that she would have finished it fine but I would rather see her do her last long run three weeks out from event day.
The next few weeks will be spent supporting our runners and walkers as they get ready for Houston. A couple days after the marathon my focus will shift to the Texas Independence Relay and organizing our game plan….which is don’t get lost and have fun.
Looking at our Texian team vs the Bloggers we are pretty evenly matched. We have a couple very fast runners but we also have a couple that are not so fast, one of which is me. Everyone else matches up surprisingly even based on what I have seen from recent race results. It should be a lot of fun.
