10th Random Thing

I've been a little busy with the Fall Fit program kicking off so posting on my blog has been a bit neglected.

From May 26 - June 1 I logged 20 miles but did miss one day so the streak ended. I was pretty sick on Thursday and Friday the 29th & 30th. I walked two miles on the 29th but didn't do anything on Friday. There was no way that I was going to run David's Dream Run 5K so I just cheered and helped with the Montgomery County Triple awards after the race.

From June 2 - June 8 I logged 25 miles. The two highlights of the week was the kick off of the Fall marathon training program Kim Hager and I are coaching through WoodlandsFit, and attending the HARRA Summer Celebration and hearing Alan Lawrence talk about the history of running in the Greater Houston area over the last 50 years. Very cool.

Now the 10th random thing

While my running streak was short lived I actually have a streak that has become bigger than me. As I said I was pretty sick Thursday and Friday a week ago. I did miss a run but I didn't miss going to work. I have worked full time since May of 1979. I have never called in sick over that 29 year period. The handful of part time jobs I held while in school prior to 1979 have the same story. I'll take my vacations days, usually two days at a time making for several long weekends during the year, but I have never missed a day of work due to sickness or anything else.

Wow, that's impressive Bill! Before I had kids, I had only called in sick once. After kids, it's a whole other story!

You rock Bill!! I am very proud of you and the running you are getting in. One of these days you will come meet "the girls" on a weeknight run.

Hey Hey Bill!

Does my streak of having Italian gelato everyday, 2x a day, for 5 days win anything???

I am going through gelato withdrawl now that I am home from Italy. I made a run to Gelato Blu just outside of Memorial Park for some on Tuesday.......and yesterday.....today I have the jitters. LOL

I will be running SA RnR Marathon as well!
