Tuesday Night Track – Back Home

Well, at least it felt like we were back home as we’re back at the Knox Junior High track on Tuesday nights. We don’t have any more overlaps with the football team so we moved back to our favorite track.

It was a very relaxed night with Kim’s group, TNT, and WoodlandsFit doing 4 different workouts. The track at Knox is much wider than where we’ve been so it seemed like we had a lot of extra room.

For the Fit marathon runners it was mile repeats. For the Fit half marathon runners it was warm-up, one mile fast and cool down…..more or less a tempo run on the track. Everyone looked great.

A few cool observations from last night

All the training groups shared the same lanes for the first time this season. Our newer runners were completely at ease and showed fantastic track etiquette with faster runners and slower runners mixed in. They all did this without thinking about it.

When the half marathoners warmed up…they ran together as a group. It was very cool to watch.

All three training groups are getting to know each other and encourage each other.
