4am - 12 midnight

Today was a very good day. I made it to the Koala/Luke's Houston Half Marathon this morning to support some of our WoodlandsFit and TWRC runners. I do miss the old 20K when it was at Walden on Lake Houston but the Striders version downtown and the half marathon distance work well and they did a great job with it today.

We had some very good performances within our ranks. One of the bigger ones was Kim Hager finishing first overall in the woman's division. Her triathletes, her runners, and the Luke's and WoodlandsFit coaches are pretty pumped up for her. She works so very hard and to see a success like today was wonderful.

I did get the chance to meet TX Runner Girl who was calling out times at mile 8. I saw Holden, and Vic, my TNT buddy Jill and many others.

Once the race was over I had to hustle home to get ready for our Light The Night walk at Market Street. Our original goal was for 400 participants. A week ago we knew we would have close to 700. And tonight....1300 showed up. We raised $133,000.00 for the Leukemia Society. Wow !

The total logistics for this event changed 6 weeks ago when Buzz Fest was scheduled for the same night across the street at the Cynthia Woods Pavilion with 17,000 kids, and their cars. Our volunteers came up big, the Sheriffs Department was outstanding and we had a very nice event.

I was a little disappointed that I missed out on running the Pre-TIR this weekend. I had an invitation to run it but had the conflict with Light The Night. Jon Walk kept me informed as they ran through the day yesterday, last night and this morning. I'm very happy that he got the chance and look forward to his report.

WOW! What an awesome night! Sorry I couldn't help, it sounds like some extra hands would have been nice to have.

Thank goodness for people like you, Bill.
