Last night was fun with three groups now sharing the location.
Triathlon
Kim was in high gear as her triathlon program through Luke’s Locker officially got underway. She’s has a nice size group and they are all in for a very special summer as Kim is one of the best coaches I’ve ever seen.
Team In Training
The TNT group training for Marine Corp and Nike San Francisco began their weeknight group workouts. It was kind of weird watching them and not being involved. Chris & Don are doing a wonderful job leading the group.
Beat Runners
My group is in transition…some have joined the tri program and will have an awesome summer. Some are getting a head start on the WoodlandsFit Half Marathon program that starts July 7. Some are taking a break.
Individuals
George Roffe finished his last track run before Grandma’s Marathon. He did a very easy workout that included one fast 400….I clocked in 1:29. He’s set for a PR and maybe a really big PR if the weather cooperates this weekend.
Rick Cook did his thing and looking really fit doing it.
Having her marathon goal race change from San Antonio to Houston so she can see Kim race the Tri 101 November 11, Juliee can enjoy a month of easier workouts. She looked awesome.
As always it's great to see and visit with Jon. He’s just runs and runs and runs. I wonder if he’s trying to get in my head so his team has the mental edge at the Texas Independence Relay. Hmmmmmmmmm.
First Time
We had a very bad thing happen last night as one of the cars was broken into and robbed while we were running. The Conroe ISD Police were great. It did put a big damper on the night. I remember when there was a rash of robberies at Memorial Park many years ago when I ran there. You were always worried while you were there. We have a description of a car one of the runners had noticed drive through the lot twice. It fit the description of a car leaving a robbery the day before. Hopefully they will be caught soon.
Who has the best heart?
We still can’t leave the track for George’s marathon strategy meeting as there is a stray puppy in the parking lot. We can’t leave it there. It has a collar with a number…it goes to a vet voice mail. Who has the best heart…Juliee. She took the puppy home overnight. That should be a good enough act to shave a couple minutes off her marathon in January.
