Some days just go perfectly.
11:38AM
I made a special request to Jay Hilscher, director of the Texas Independence Relay. I was blown away by the response. I don’t want to say what the request was just yet, but Jay not only said yes…he suggested additional ideas. He closed his message with ” ……while we enjoy racing, running fast, going for it, and all that, we REALLY believe that relationships are where it's at, and we enjoy the context of running in which relationships can grow. SO, we want to be a different race where it is obvious that we think this way. It may be a little more work, but it is what we want and enjoy doing…..”
1:00PM
I return from lunch and our receptionist says...."hey are you losing weight?" Odessa's Plan must be working.
6:00PM
I’m on the planning committee for the Leukemia Society’s Light The Night Walk (LTN) in The Woodlands. This is our third year to have the event. Our monthly meeting was at the Goose’s Acre. I actually made the trip from Deer Park to The Woodlands in less than an hour. The good news…we have 18,000.00 in corporate support now…at the end of May, five months before the event. Wow ! Our goal is to raise a pretty big number for the Leukemia Society. We are well on our way.
7:30PM
Right after the LTN meeting I was off to my first ever WoodlandsFit coaches meeting. This is the first time that WoodlandsFit will have dedicated half marathon coaches…that I get to head up. I already know a lot of the Fit runners so it was a reunion of sorts.
9:00PM
I’m home and I check my e-mails. I have 25 more TWRC runners confirmed to run RTW 179. With the regular RTW runners and the verbal commitments we should have about 60 runners & walkers for the Challenge. If everyone shows up we’ll be tough to beat.
I see Rick’s baby announcement…..Congrats Super Dad !
I work on the TWRC Newsletter some and note some updates for the web page.
A very positive and good day. Maybe the weekend will be the same.

Hey, Mister ... it is your turn to run alongside of the truck this year and lay the cones down!
Wait that means you might get a leg up in preparation for the TIR.
I'll do it again. :)
We are on the Waterway and a little on Lake Robbins this year. We'll only need about 40 cones.....a lot less than the 200 last year.
So when are you planning on letting us in on this special request?
Massage Chair
Sounds like a great day...hope the weekend was just as great!
