Ouch !

Air bags and seat belts do work. The photo is of my Ranger after hitting the concrete barrier on hwy 225 at 60mph at about a 60 degree angle early this morning. I had a guardian angel this morning, all is well. I walked away without a scratch although my nerves are a little shot right now. The Ranger held up surprisingly well although the insurance company hinted that it will probably be totaled.

It really puts a lot in perspective when you face something like this. In an instant everything could change.

Bill, I hope you're ok. Thank God you are. Were you swerving to avoind something or what? Bummer about the truck but thank God for protecting you from injury.

I hit a big piece of pavement that had come out of a pot hole. Probably from all the rain Monday. My guess is my rear passanger side tire blew and it threw me into the wall. It all happened so fast.

The police dragged the pavement out of the road but it had already claimed two more vehicles and several very close calls. I had jumped to the other side to avoid getting run over. Pretty scary.

I just have a little mark from the air bag on my wrist and I'm pretty sore.

There was a lot on my mind running through all the what if's last night.

Glad you guardian angel was on duty!

It's been interesting reading about your past- a Boston qualifier no less- impressive. Did you run Boston?

I'm fascinated with the mental side of running right now, and would love to here your viewpoint...it's wierd how the doubts creep into the mind at stages during a race but can still be overcome.

Repair estimate $9,200.00 which equals total loss. The photo doesn't show the damage along the side. I will say that State Farm has been awesome.
