Tuesday Night Track

We had a great group last night. Kim’s Triathlon group, the TNT runners, our Luke’s Beat/now WoodlandsFit runners, and a few friends. The track was busy, and social and a very cool place to be. Our WoodlandsFit group really won’t start Tuesday workouts until the end of August. The group running now are the Beat Runners who are an awesome group of friends. We have to figure out how to accommodate 100 plus runners for the new WoodlandsFit sign-ups. It might be Tuesday & Wednesday night track next month.

I’ve been running a little bit on Tuesdays. I even had some heads turn last week and heard….”hey, Bill’s actually running” as I ran by a small group. I ran a little with the beat runners last night and paced one of the triathletes doing mile repeats. I did it as an interval running every other lap with her. I felt pretty good but still nowhere near where I want to be.

A few positives from the night
Several in the group have noticed a change. As of yesterday – I’m down 16 pounds over the last 8 weeks. Running feels soooooo much easier.

There where a couple comments about my stride which is much smoother than it’s been – (at 2:17 / 400 pacing)

The night ended with Super Coach Kim saying – “hey, you’re looking good lately” (positive reinforcement is a good thing)

I have always encouraged the runners I’ve coached. It’s very humbling to have those same runners encourage me as I start to feel a little like my old self. I love the running community.

Congrats on the loss of poundage. Now I'll have to think of another way to slow you down when TIR rolls around! :-)
