Today was perfect

It was the third day in a row of setting up the club tent at a race. This morning was a bit more involved and included more gear as Jon Walk and I produced the first ever Montgomery County Triple 5K to cap off the three race series we call the Montgomery County Triple. The past two years we have piggy backed onto the Run The Woodlands (RTW) 5K but with Thanksgiving weekend falling a little later in the month we didn't have that luxury.

Our event was in the same spirit as the twice monthly RTW as a low key no frills event. To make our event a little different we ran the course in a reverse direction.

After the event we handed out our pine cone awards to anyone who completed The Run Thru the Woods 5 miler Thursday, the City of Conroe 5K yesterday and our event today. We even had The Woodlands mascot, Puffy the Pinecone, helping.

What made today perfect was that everyone truly enjoyed and was very appreciative of our event. It was a great morning.

As a side note: We charged a dollar for entry and had 48 official runners. We made it known that we would be donating the proceeds to a charity. At the end of the day we donated $250.00 to the Hagemeister Research Fund. Very cool!

More about the Hagemeister Research Fund and the January 31, 2009 Remission Run can be found here.

What a busy few days Coach Bill, but it would not be a race without seeing your friendly face around

Hey many thanks to you and Jon, this was a great way to wrap up the weekend. Two things stood out for me, you'all actually took the time to lay down mile markers which I really appreciated! Also there were lots of runners in training there, it was great to see your support for the newbies. Thanks again.

Great time, lotsa running last weekend! You guys put on some great events, as always! Nice job, thanks!

It'll be neat to see your progress as you start picking up the mileage...
