What a Great Weekend!

Texian Road Warriors begin the race. (photo courtesy of George Roffe)

Joe in uniform and ready to go.

There was time to be social waiting to begin each leg

A quick note to say that the Texas Independence Relay is in my personal record book as the most fun I've ever had at an event. The Bloggers took the lead on the very first leg. Our Texians came right back. For all of the first day it was a battle. Our Texians would build a lead then the Bloggers would fight back and go ahead only to lose it again. The Bloggers Prevailed!

Full report in a few days.

There were absolutely NO LOSERS on this trip! We all finished and we all won much more than a nice shirt, cool shirts, and great medals... we won memories to last a life time and friendships to grace our lives. I pray that every competition I face in life is only HALF as much fun as TIR with the Texian Road Warriors was!

30 years from now, I think I'll still enjoy our both teams company and rejoice in the memory.

Sounds like a memorable fun weekend, no matter who won.

Bill: It was good to meet you. It was great fun even though I'm not sure I would have used the words "great fun" at 12:30am Sunday morning. The competition between the Texian Road Warriors and Bloggers made it even better.

All I know is we all finished and I got a MEDAL and you did too. I like medals, as my team will attest to.

Good to see you out there Bill. It was great fun this weekend. I don't think I ever slept so deeply as I did after this one (and for brief moments during this one).
