We have Tuesday night down to a solid routine with Kim Hager’s tri group, Dana-Sue Crew’s TNT runners, and our WoodlandsFit runners all doing something different, working hard and staying out of each others way. It’s fun to watch. Our WoodlandsFit workout last night was warm-up, then drills, then 8 x 60/60, cool down, then a few easy strides.
I was undefeated running the straights, walking back, blowing the whistle and repeating. I wasn’t running continuously and the people I was pacing 100 meters with were not racing me…..but it was a fun fantasy.
Kim’s group looked great as did Dana-Sue’s.
While our WoodlandsFit runners begin to focus on their January event…..I have bigger fish to fry and have begun my 5 week push for MC3. I have entered the 5 mile Thanksgiving day Run Thru the Woods and managed to work my way through the Conroe Turkey Trot on-line registration. (Conroe’s site is a little cumbersome). The Saturday RTW 5K is still toss a dollar in the box race day. I have to overcome the reoccurring mental picture of last years DNF at Conroe which I am reminded of every day with last years trophy and it’s shaved center pine cone. I also have to come to grips with the inevitable double digit pace I’ll be running. If I were a newer runner it wouldn’t be an issue….having a memory of past events makes it tough.
MC3 scares me more than Sunmart.
