Tuesday used to be a little bit of a fire drill as I needed to be on the road from where I work in Deer Park by 5:30 to arrive in The Woodlands ahead of our runners for our 6:45 start. It's a little tougher now as I'm trying to arrive by 6 to actually get a short workout in before the group arrives. Tonight was perfect. I was changed into my running clothes and out of the office by 5:05. My travel time was just under an hour to The Woodlands. I warmed up one mile very slow, jogged mile two a little faster and then did 4 x 200 at a comfortable pace with a slow 200 recovery jog in-between. Splits for the 200's were... :46, :45, :46, and :48. Not bad for 101 degrees.
The group did great. Kim is out of state for another week so Susie Schreiber from Luke's and I were running the show. We kept it a little low key. Sprint Tri & Half Marathoners did 3 x 800, Olympic Tri did 5 x 800, and Long course Tri did 2 x 2 miles (they're tough). I am blending a few WoodlandsFit runners into the mix a little early and they all did great. I'm a little worried how we will handle 100 plus runners beginning in September when we officially begin our interval sessions for the Fit group. It'll be a fun challenge.
