Training week 5 - 8/21 - 8/27

Mon - After a long day at work and a little extra work putting a new radiator cooling fan in my daughters car I managed an easy 2 mile run.

Tue - The 104TX and TNT runners track workout was cut short due a thunderstorm. It's too bad because everyone looked great during the warm-up and during the one 600 meter run they got in before the storm hit. I then went to Jason's Deli with TNT Winter Season coach Carol Steele and her husband Don to catch up on things. No run for me after the salid bar.

Wed - Scheduled day off

Thurs - The Clearlake group didn't meet at Crenshaw park so I headed home and did my old 5 mile loop around the subdivision. Good outing.

Friday - Scheduled day off.

Saturday - The morning was spent supporting the 104TX runners and TNT runners. We introduced a little different spin on hill work on the Frisbee golf course at Terramont Park. The Woodlands HS girls cross country team was also doing the hills but at a much faster pace. Kim Hager provided a strength training clinic that was very good. Later in the day....actually early evening....I managed a solid 7 miler.

Sunday - This was car repair week for me. After putting new brake shoes on my truck I did an easy 2 miler. Again felt good. ( The weekend runners will be happy to know that the sag wagon now has new brakes. )

Total miles 16

I could have swore I saw Jim Fredricks running the opposite way on the RTW course on Saturday.

I also knew that you were out there as I saw the water cooler set up on the left-hand turn point at about the 2.3-mile mark.

Jim was doing a 14 miler and was running opposite the RTW 5K. He's doing great.

We will be back on Flintridge this coming week and looking to say hi to Holden.
