Training Week 2 - 7/31 - 8/6

Monday - very easy 2 miles after work. Felt good.

Tuesday - left work a little early to make a 5:30 meeting at the Grotto in Market Street, The Woodlands for Thursdays corporate mixer for potential sponsors for the Montgomery County Light The Night Walk , Sunday evening October 29th. (I'm the volunteer coordinator for the event) After 45 minutes I headed over to Oak Ridge HS to put the Ten for Texas & TNT runners through a very tough workout and all did great in hot conditions. A couple hours later I was home and spun 2 miles - not bad with the hectic schedule.

Wednesday - scheduled day off

Thursday - A mad dash to The Woodlands from Deer Park for the 5:30 pm corporate mixer which was very well attended. I saw a lot of old friends and made some new ones. I was home pretty early and did my 4 mile loop at a very easy pace. Tired but felt good.

Friday - scheduled day off - prepared for Saturday's group workout.

Saturday - Most of the TNT'ers did fairly well, a few did great, a few didn't do all that well. It was very muggy & hot and they were doing 13 miles running the Flintridge Hills twice. Next week we will all rest with the RTW 5K (Bloggers vs Huntsville RC edition) and forget marathon training for a weekend. The Ten for Texas group did very well with their workout and will join the TNT'ers at the RTW 5K for a little time trial.

The WoodlandsFit group was out in numbers. When I was sweeping the route for a few of my runners I saw Holden Choi in the Fit group looking pretty strong. I had to slow up (I was driving my truck) to say hello.

Later in the day I logged an easy 5 miles. Again - I felt pretty good.

Sunday - It looks like I'm becoming a morning runner on Sunday. A "quick" 2 miles before church.

Total for the week - same as last week 15 miles

No watch yet - I still don't want to know.

An easy 2 miles before church. Sounds like a great idea. Our church has services on Saturday night so it's good for weekend runs.
