Busy, Busy, Busy

Ten for Texas
Looks like it’ll be a great morning for the runners. We will debut the new TWRC tent tomorrow morning. It’s first class. Our WoodlandsFit runners are ready. I’ll be helping with the mile marker volunteer crew and then at the finish line.

Clearlake 10 miler
Look for a couple representatives of TWRC at Clearlake on Sunday. I’m looking forward to cheering Vic on in the race.

Light The Night
It’s been a very busy couple of weeks. Our Light The Night walk scheduled for the evening of October 28 was thrown a little curveball with Buzz Fest being scheduled at the Cynthia Woods Pavilion the same day. We scheduled our date back in March. Buzz Fest was scheduled fairly recently. Our route would take us right into the 17,000 kids. We’ve changed our route, resubmitted to the proper jurisdictions, and were approved for a route that will be less of a conflict with the concert. We are on pace to have a record turn out and hope to set a fundraising record also. Our first year we had about 100 walkers and raised about $19,000.00 event day. For the second year we had 350 registered walkers (although I think many brought family members as we filled about 800 balloons) and raised 67,000.00 event day. This event has 367 registered through last week and we are starting with 30,000.00 already raised three weeks before the event!

I added a run log to my blog that works well. Hopefully the average pace gets a little faster soon. I don’t like the double digits.

Huntsville Half
Good luck to Ken and the 7 Hills Running Club. I hope enough runners have chosen your event to keep it successful.
