Montgomery County Triple - Event 1

One down two to go. The YMCA trail run is in the bag. Very slow but it counts.

The Luke's Beat runners came away with 4 age group awards....The Woodlands Running Club picked up 4 more.

Full report later for our group.

When Rick Cook mentioned he was making some trail like awards for runners who completed the Montgomery County Triple he sparked a lot of interest in our group. We have one person doing a Half Ironman Triathlon in a week and asked if it could count.....Rick said yes it would. Then a last minute dilemma, a school conflict would keep her from doing the YMCA run which started at 9:15am. Could Run The Woodlands 5K also count? Yes....and it starts at 8am.

This runner ( Super Coach Kim Hager ) has never done Run the Woodlands competitively. She did run it as a pacer for one of our Luke's Beat runners once last year. Even today she did a 45 minute workout before the race and just wanted to run through it at Half Ironman pace, not really racing it. And what was that pace....18:37 and first woman accross the line.

Kim....it was fun watching you run.

(Update - The course record is 18:25 - Nicole Jones. Now that Kim knows this I wonder if there might be one more appearance sometime this summer?)
