I work in Deer Park about 5 miles from the TIR finish line. I swung by on the way home tonight. Many years ago I was on a corporate team that did a relay race on Battleground Road. Each of 4 runners ran 1 mile to the monument, around it and returned 1 mile, a total of eight miles for the team. I thought that was cool back then.
